Ever since Wednesday, Sweetpea has been staying off the ground and off the crawling position. We're amazed how long she can go. One could say that she is now officially walking. Yay! Our little Sweetpea is growing so fast. She's not completely stable, but she is very determined. When she falls, she gets back up and goes again. On Wednesday, I just noticed her repeatedly walking back and forth between the kitchen and the family room while I was preparing some food or washing dishes. It was cute to see her come near me, circle around, go to the family room, and circle around back to me. We even played a little game of me chasing after her to get her diapers and pants back on... such a funny little girl, but we love to hear her laugh. On Thursday, she also surprised me by saying "poo poo" right before she actually went #. This could be the right direction towards helping he with potty training later on :) Something tells us that she now really understands "no." Before, during meal times we'd give her food and she would just start playing and tossing them over when she was done, and of course, turn her head away and wave off our hands (which had the spoon of food). She did know and do the sign for "all done," but sometimes we weren't sure anyways or wanted to get a few more bites in, so we'd try. Now, no is definitely no. She says "no" with an abrupt and deep voice along with shaking her head back and forth. Too funny. We've also learned that it's hard to say no to her, and we usually give her what she wants when she says and does the sign for "please." Uh-oh, we're in trouble. Another thing we should probably note down or document is that she naturally stopped nursing on her own when she reached 14 months, so now mommy is more free. Oh, where did all the time go? It seems that we just brought her home a few days ago. It has definitely been a joy to be a part of Sweetpea's life and a privilege to be her parents.
