Towards the beginning of April, we got to visit and see my cousin Jacob for the first time. We had lots of fun spending time together even though we just looked at each other most of the time. Maybe when we're older we can run around and play hide and seek in the house :)
Mommy and Ah-ee's friend Auntie Rica came over to see us while we were there, so I got to meet her too. I like to dance to the pink musical elephant that she gave me; thank you.
We hope we can visit again soon... and of course, we'd love for you to come see us here in Washington when you get a chance!
Little Sweetpea is growing up so fast. It seems like only moments ago we were sending out birth announcements, and now, she is One. It's amazing how time flies and how precious each memory can be.
On Sweetpea's actual birthday, she had a pediatrician's appointment. Unlike past appointments which are typically a week off, this appointment fell right on her birthday. Despite the earlier measurement check, little Sweetpea did well and is growing beautifully. She is growing nicely along her new weight growth curve, measuring in at 18 lbs 11.5 oz. As for her height, she is shooting up towards the sky measuring 31 inches in height, placing her in the 95th percentile. Sometimes, we can't believe how fast she's growing.
Since we've had requests for more pictures from the party, we've included some more photos below for our friends and family to enjoy including my new monkey sent in the mail from Uncle Mike. He wouldn't get off my back and stuck to me, so we became friends :) We all had a great time at the party and hope those in attendance did too. Hope the Sweetpea trivia winners Auntie Phoebe and Auntie KL enjoyed their prizes as well which silly daddy announced as "a Hawaiian shirt wrapped around a box" when in actuality, it was chocolate truffles in a novelty tropical shirt box. Funny how Auntie Phoebe said, "how do you wear this?" Thanks for joining us for this fun and memorable occasion!
June 12 was a very exciting day for me. As I woke up in the morning, mommy and daddy were singing a new song to me! I did not exactly understand it at first, but it brought a very big smile to my face. They sang the "happy birthday" song to me throughout the day and I realized that it must be a very special day for me. They treated me extra special. Here is a picture of me that my mommy and daddy took of me. My mommy and daddy made this special hat for me. Here is a picture of me in it!
The very next day, I woke up to find my Lola standing with my Lolo! They visited me from Las Vegas! I could get used to this Happy Birthday thing! Looks like they were up to something. As I woke up from my nap, I found some strange funny looking things hanging on the wall. Here's what was in the eating room.
Here's what was in the formal living room.
Here's what was outside on the deck.
And there were these floaties up the air.
Then all of a sudden, people started arriving. First, my new friend Jackson and his parents came.
Then five minutes later, here is what my place looked like! I had lots of fun.
After a while, my mommy and daddy put the strange hat on me again with a homemade bib that mommy had made me. They set me in front of a big crowd of people and started singing my song again! I was very happy. Here is a picture of me!
Afterwards, everyone was cheering me on as I climbed up the steps to go to my bedroom to nap. Wow, what a day.
When I woke up, I found myself surrounded by these new presents! Here is a picture of me with gifts.
Thanks everyone for all your care and love this past year!
