I know we haven't posted anything in ages, and I'm always thinking that we should update our site as we have so many pictures and family memories to share, and so many that we'd also like to have on record to look back on. Anyhow, we can't believe how much time has already passed. Today was little Sweetpea's first day of Kindergarten. The kids have been going to bed between 9 and 10pm, and we wanted them to get back to sleeping between 8 and 9 pm to make sure they get enough rest especially since Sweetpea was starting Kindergarten this week. School starts at 8:30AM. Last night, she willingly went to bed when asked, no resistance, no "I'm not tired", and today, she got up bright and early even before her alarm rang. She was so excited because she knew she was going to Kindergarten today.
I got up earlier also to get ready and prepare her lunch and snacks for her first day of school. Contents of her lunchbox included Cheddar Pop Chips, small ham and cheese luncheables for snack, tapioca pudding, horizon vanilla milk, Tortellini with veggie tomato sauce in a Hello Kitty insulated food jar, and a banana. Daddy stayed home for the morning and went to work later because he did not want to miss this occasion. Little Chickpea got up early too all by himself before he was set to wakeup. We don't worry about him so much since he still takes naps at Preschool, but it would be his first day of preschool all by himself.
Chickpea did not take the news too well when I was trying to prepare him and casually told him that his older sister would be going off to Kindergarten; this was on the car one morning last week before I dropped the kids off at their preschool. Today, he happily went to the school to drop off Carolyn but he really thought that maybe, just maybe he can go to Kindergarten too :( Poor guy wasn't happy he had to go to preschool.
We can't believe how much Sweetpea has grown and can't imagine our kids being in high school one day. I guess we're getting old too. Anyhow, it was an exciting day, and I can't wait to go home and hear how everything went.
