Doctor's Visit

Since the last update post on Chickpea, I have been going to the OB weekly for checkups. During the last visit, last Wednesday, I was told that I was almost but not quite 2cm dilated and that she could feel baby's head... so he is definitely in position to come. Because of this, she told us to have our bags ready as the baby can come early... maybe still reach full term but come as early as 38 weeks. Yesterday, we had another doctor's visit where we were told that I am now definitely at 2cm and 50% effaced. So far, I have gained at least 20 lbs in this pregnancy. I can't imagine growing much more since I have officially lost my belly button now. I remember thinking how odd it looked when I saw friend's belly buttons pop out during pregnancy, but with Sweetpea, I still had a belly button... not so with this one. I have a feeling he may be bigger than Sweetpea... either that or it's me gaining the pounds and stretch marks, lol :( Either way, we're all pretty excited about Chickpea's arrival... as to whether or not we're ready, time will tell.
