Our Red, White, & Blue Weekend

With the sun up and no dark clouds in sight, it was a beautiful 4th of July weekend... perfect for our first family hike. To start off the weekend, we went on a short hike at Snoqualmie Falls.

It was fun because it became a mini group outing for us and our friends; you could say that this was a small test run to see how our tots would do on a hike. The trek to the falls wasn't too bad at all since it was all downwards... The trek up, on the other hand, is a different story. It was a bit more tiring especially for the parents carrying the tots :) Here's some pics of our travel companions and friends who shared our adventure.

Here we are on the bottom.

Where's the little Sweetpea; what's she doing? you ask... Sweetpea fell asleep on the trek down.

Fortunately, she did wake up just in time to enjoy the scenery before we had to head back.

The next day, we went to Uncle Bob's for 4th of July bbq and fireworks. Sweetpea enjoyed playing with Naomi jie-jie and Noah geh-geh.
She also enjoyed her first burger. yummy!

Thanks for letting me play with your toys and nifty new kitchen.

The girls wanted to take a picture together, but Sweetpea kept trying to escape

We wanted a family shot in our red, white, and blues, but as you can see, the toys are too much to resist.

Before we left, we watched some fireworks. Sweetpea got a taste of some juice and really enjoyed it... so much that she wanted to get every last drop!

What an eventful weekend!

Happy (belated) 4th of July! Seems that you guys are doing great and having lots of fun with sweetpea.
I was just wondering what is the brand of the toddler/backpack carrier that you have... I think we need one.

it's a Kelty hiking backpack... it comes with a sun canopy which we didn't put on during the hike since the hubby couldn't find a part... anyhow, we got it from craigslist (do you have something like it?) since we didn't want to spend a lot on something we didn't know we'd use much or not. glad to hear from ya, hope you guys are doing well :)
