6 Month Update

On the 17th, little Sweetpea went in for her 6 month checkup. Everything went pretty well. She weighed in at 15.8, which is considered 25-50 percentile, and she is still growing like a weed with a length of 27 1/4 inches putting her in the 90th percentile. Although she didn't complain as much about the oral vaccine she had to intake, she wasn't very happy about the pricks to her thighs. That's right... She received not one, not two, not even three, but four shots (two on each thighs), and one of the vaccinations was a three in one. She will need to go back to get a booster for the flu shot. With everything that was put in her body, it was no wonder the poor dear ended up with a fever and getting ill that night. We were actually able to make use of the snuggle nest once again to help elevate her a bit so she could breath a bit easier at night. Other remedies we used were Baby Vics (not adult one since I read that adult vics is too strong and overwhelming for babies) and vapor bath. Seems like we have a happy and optimistic baby girl; she still smiled and played even though she was not completely whole. When we took her to the pediatrician to have her checked out before our holiday trip to Vegas, the rotator pediatrician said to her "you're cute as a button when you're ill; you'll have to come see me when you're well."

As far as milestones, she started to sit on her own between five and six months.

She also gained more control of her hands

Before we know it, she'll be crawling and walking and talking...
